Riding Instructor
Greenlawn Equestrian Center was established in December, 2008 by Vito and Janice Pizzonia as a lesson and boarding facility. Our mission is to provide high quality instruction and care to both rider and horse in a friendly, relaxed and clean environment. Greenlawn Equestrian Center is located on Wood Ave in Greenlawn, directly off of Pulaski Rd (opposite Waldbaums Shopping Center).
We offer year round horseback riding lessons for the beginning student to the advanced in our large, advanced jumping ring or in our covered beginner ring. We have 10 school horses - one is just right for your size and riding ability! We hold regular horsemanship classes to teach riders and non-riders the proper way to care for horses - an important part of riding that is often forgotten. We believe a good rider is one who can properly care for a horse as well as ride and we encourage all students to learn proper horsemanship.
For the little ones not quite ready to take lessons we offer pony rides - a great way to introduce horses.
Our camp programs are offered during the summer as well as during school vacations. These programs allow children to fully immerse themselves in horsemanship and riding everyday. During these days the camper will take care of a horse specially selected for their experience level - it is just like caring for your own horse!
Own your own horse? We provide outstanding care and boarding which includes high quality hay & grain, 4-6 hour daily turnout, shavings (no sawdust) and night checks by our on-site barn manager. We offer various barn services to care for your horse when as well as schooling if needed.
For our horses our facility includes 20 stalls, 8 individual dirt turnout paddocks, 2 large grass group turnout paddocks and 2 wash stalls.
For our riders we offer 2 outdoor riding arenas, a beginner 80' x 80' covered riding ring and a large 100' x 245' ring with jumps. All rings are dragged daily. Come see our facility and you'll be pleasantly surprised of our cleanliness, care and attention to detail.
